What is Movement Therapy?

Movement is a way of sensing.

By moving our bodies, we can learn to perceive the parts of our body in relationship to itself and its environment. Through examining ways we are limited or repressed in our movements, we can move our story of development to a new level of personal evolution.

Movement Therapy can be quite effective in improving communication between body and mind, as well as addressing long-term patterns caused by interrupted or unfinished areas of development. Personal transformations may be assisted through developing a movement practice.

In a Movement Therapy session, we work to identify specific exercises and practices to increase your range of expression and keep the lines of communication open between you, your body, and your environment. I serve as a facilitator, coach, guide, and witness, as we explore a range of somatic experiences– discovering new types of movement for expanding self-awareness, widening range of expression and improving overall health.
